The class that seems to go by so quickly dragged on forever and ever today. Every minute of the six hours was painful, not only because I am a bit sore from lifting at the gym, but because we are working on Problem and Solution Generation Techniques. Way too dull for me…but, we got to work on our group projects for the last hour, so that was an anticipated relief. Julia, Lena, and I are in a group, and our topic is Improper Utilization of Agricultural Land in Russia. We're finding some interesting information through our research on the internet, and with me searching in English, and them in Russian, we’re sure to have a solid knowledge base to begin our problem anaysis.
Halsey had asked me last week if I would go out to dinner with her and a friend from Montana State that she was meeting up with in Moscow. Katia came along also, as we headed to Lubianka to meet Doug, a fellow student of Halsey's, whom she had met at a travellers info session at Montana State. He is a lot older than I though, and definitely seemed too old to be in college, but he was a lot of fun, and gave us some good tips about the city. We headed to Maykovskaya to eat dinner at American Bar and Grill. Doug is in a program through MSU, and is a nursing student. He is doing a home-stay while here in Moscow taking 12 credits in Intensive Russian, and other classes taught by Russian professors. We chatted while we ate, and finished up around 9:30. Halsey, Katia, and I exchanged money before we got back on the Metro, since the rate is so much better in the downtown areas. Our deposit for our trip to St. Petersburg is due tomorrow morning, as Sergi is coming to talk to us about the trip before Russian class.
