    Another rainy day...

The weather has been horrible here since everyone left on Sunday and Monday. Victory Day (May 9) was the nicest day we have had all week as we had our first thunderstorm yesterday, and today, yet again, it rained all day long. But alas, I headed to work at the school around 10:00 AM today. I taught three lessons, one with my favorite class in the seventh form again, and then two classes with students in the 10th and 9th forms. It was a good day, I think because I got to teach my favorite class first thing in the day, so my spirits were up for the remainder of the lessons. I talked to Michael about making a video of me teaching for my National Collegiate FFA Ambassador Application. He was excited about it and was willing to have the school help me out in any way that they could. I will teach an agricultural lesson to a class of students in the 10th form on Tuesday. This means that I have a lot of work to do before then, preparing the lesson and getting all of the materials ready. I have a few ideas about what to do, but I need to sit down and do a lot of planning/creative thinking. I want it to be educational, yet interesting for the Russian students. This will be a challeng, as even the teachers did not want me to teach agriculture to the younger students because they did not think it was "possible". They do not understand how you can teach farming in school. I guess I will just have to show them!

So when I got back to the hostel, I had to stop by administration to renew my dorm pass since it expired today. This also means that rent is due for the next month of my stay! I need to get on that! I went up to Leanna, Nina, and Natasha's room to say goodbye, since everyone but Natasha is going home this weekend. I also talked to Natasha about helping me shop for supplies for my lesson…I think we will go to Ashan this weekend sometime. It will be difficult though, since I must teach tomorrow…on Saturday! The students had a break from classes on Monday for Victory Day, so they will attend class tomorrow to make-up for it. In the evening, I went downtown with Simeon to get him a new pair of jeans, then we stopped back at the hostel, and he, Weston, and I hung out for a while. I worked on journaling, e-mails, and letters for a bit before watching another episode of the OC…of course, Weston and I are doing another marathon and we just couldn't go a day without our dose of OC to keep us "cultured"...
